Charlotte White Center, CWC, Donate OnlineThe majority of funding for our services comes from the State of Maine, through Medicare and Medicaid.

We must raise additional funds to cover all the assistance we provide to our clients and our community.

Annual Appeal

CWC welcomes support from individuals, foundations, community organizations, and businesses to help carry out our important mission of advancing community support and opportunities for people living with disabilities. When you donate to CWC, you help provide a brighter future for children and adults with disabilities. During these challenging times, your donation can enhance our current services, fill in the gaps when public funding is scarce, and provide start-up money for new services.

Matching Corporate Gifts

Many companies have programs through which they will “match” the charitable contributions made by their employers.  Through corporate gift matching, your employer can multiply your gift to CWC, making it go farther.

Check with your company’s Human Resources office to see if they offer a matching gift program. (If they do not, you many want to ask your company to start one.)  If your employer does offer this program, your Human Resources Department should provide you with a matching gift form to send to CWC along with your donation.

Honorary and Memorial Gifts

Whether you want to celebrate a special occasion such as a birthday or anniversary, or remember a loved one, your gift will go a long way toward supporting people with disabilities. Please indicate the designation to an individual in the online form. CWC will notify the honoree or family member on your behalf.

Gifts of Stock

A gift of stock can provide much-needed support for CWC's crucial services and offer you financial benefits as well.  If you have owned the securities for more than one year and itemize deductions, you may be entitled to an income tax deduction for the full market value of the securities.  With a gift of securities to CWC, you also may avoid any capital gains taxes that would be due if you sell the stock.

If you are ready to make a gift, there are several ways to transfer securities to CWC: electronic transfer, mailing certificates, or hand delivery.

Gifts of Real Estate
Donors receive an income tax deduction equal to the appraised fair market value of the property, with no capital gains due to the transfer to CWC.  The donation removes a large taxable assest from the estate and donors can take advantage of a variety of gift formats available for a donation of real estate, each offering unique planning benefits.

Donate Professional Services

CWC appreciates donated professional services. We welcome the support we receive in a variety of necessary services, including consulting, printing, marketing, accessible technology support, special event planning and facilities. These donations would usually qualify as tax-deductible under Internal Revenue Service guidelines for contributions to non-profit organizations.

Donate Goods

Donations of quality items help CWC fill in the gaps when public funding is scarce for people with disabilities.  Furniture and household items; tickets to sporting events, movies and other entertainment; computers for our school-age students and adults; and professional attire for people seeking employment all help ensure quality lives for the people we support.  Please consider donating items to a location nearest you.

Monthly Giving

If you would like to give monthly, our clients and community will benefit greatly from your generosity.    Any amount is appreciated and will help us meet critical, basic needs.
