Charlotte White Center, CWC, Supportive LivingOur Supported Living Program serves adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and provides a comfortable home shared with one other resident, and is supported by trained staff 24 hours per day. Staff members assist residents in attaining independent living skills. Each resident has his/her own bedroom and receives individualized care and skill building according to his/her treatment plan.  



  • Must have DHHS funding MaineCare Home and Community Based Waiver Approval Section 21

  • Must be 18 years of age or older

  • Must have diagnosis of intellectual or developmental disability


Supported Living Services Ensure the Health, Safety, and Well-being of Residents

Residents receive assistance in meeting daily needs according to their individualized treatment plans, which may consist of

  • Choice making and independent living skills training

  • Community integration and inclusion

  • Developing socially appropriate behavior and interpersonal skills; including anger management, increasing self-esteem and coping skills

  • Developing and maintaining age appropriate behaviors; including socially appropriate behavior and interpersonal skills

  • Developing functional skills; including, but not limited to, properly handling emergencies, cleaning and maintaining their home, managing money, recognizing street signs, problem solving skills, etc.


Goals and Objectives of Supported Living Services

  • Maximize independence and provide the least restrictive, safe living environment

  • Provide an environment of choice


Qualified, Trained and Reliable Staff

Our staff administers and monitors all medications, as well as reports any reactions to the resident’s doctors, when this is a need.

  • Medication monitoring and administering

  • Assistance with maintaining proper medical care, including making and keeping medical and dental appointments

  • Transportation to medical, dental and services such as counseling, occupational and physical therapy
